I invite all voters to write my name in on either Primary Election Ballot on September 14

If enough Independent Voters write my name in on the Democrat Ballot, the Democrat Incumbent may be eliminated from the November Ballot

Dale E. Brown

Independent Candidate

Massachusetts Fifth Congressional District Seat

I can easily beat Niki in the Primary Election...with yor help

in which case she would not even appear on the General Election Ballot

The only drawback to this scenario is that I would have to accept the Democratic nomination for the General Election. My name would then appear in the Democrat column of the ballot.

I would still retain my Independent (unenrolled/no party affiliation) political staus

I talked the Secretary of State Galvin's office and was told that I would be considered an Independent Democrat. I could handle that if you could in order to nix Niki in the Primary. I sincerely do not think that any of the Republicans could defeat Niki (D). Bob Clark (I) and I in the General Election. It would most likely go to the Incumbent Democrat. If you would help me take the Primary away from her, then we could fight it out over our Conservative values. In that scenario, I think that I would have and excellent chance of winning the General Election. I think any of the Conservatives would have a much better chance if Niki was relagated to the cheering section.

Dale E, Brown, Independent for Congress (MA05) is one of only two candidates that can beat Niki…in the Primary Election. As an unenrolled candidate his name can be written in on the Democrat (or Republican) Primary ballot, in which case Niki’s hundreds of thousands of dollars could possibly be rendered worthless as campaign funding. Unenrolled voters (50% of voters in 5th district) can request either ballot in the Primary Election.

Dale is a Navy veteran with 14 years (1969-1982) in the Naval Security Group (branch of Naval Intelligence). . He completed special assignments for the Officer in Charge of the National Security Agency (NSA) Pacific and another for the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO). He has degrees in Mathematics (BS) and Computer Science (MS) and spent his civilian career as a Radar and Digital Communications Engineer and Software Engineer for Sperry Gyroscope, Unisys, Loral, Lockheed Martin and Raytheon. His many projects included support for the US Atlantic Fleet, Royal Saudi Naval Forces, US Navy escort operations for Kuwaiti oil tankers in the Persian Gulf, Royal Australian Navy, US Weather Service, US Army (Patriot Missile Systems), and new development of the Zumwalt class destroyer.

Dale invites all registered voters to write in his name on either ballot in the Primary Election on September 14 and encourages all voters to vote for him on November 2.

WOW, that's some pretty heavy stuff....But why?

I've been told that I have too much time on my hands....Maybe so. Since I retired in February 2008, I've been trading in the Stock market. As I sat at my desk doing the research and following the market tics, I followed the political situation developing into the election and since, and the deteriorating economic turmoil. I had the time to closely examine all of the speeches, reactions, and comments. I was very closely involved during the Bear Sterns and Lehman debacles....and General Motors and Chrysler. I watched the blatant disregard by government of established contract law and bankruptcy proceedings. Researching the causes and results of the housing boom and bust, I came to the conclusion that it was all the result of negligent agenda driven government policies. I was able to observe the deceit and partisanship of Congress (House and Senate) and the Administration. I have been able to read and study the most simple and brilliant legal document ever written by man, the Constitution on the United States of America. I have observed this government ignore it as if it were yesterday's newspaper. I then did some more research on how this has been going on for more than a century. The departure from strict adherence to this document has been the cause of more problems than have been solved. This has come about from the interpretation being drawn from the events of the day, the Constitution is a living document and must be related to the times. This is to put it mildly, crap. The Constitution was written in the language of the day but it is very simple and clear in its definitions and meanings. The only way to interpret it in any other way is to add meanings that are clearly not there or ignore as irrelevant explicit stated meanings.

You sound quite conservative....so why Independent and not Republican?

You make it sound as though I'm blaming Democrats for all of the problems. Not so....the Democrats are the party in control (?) at the moment so they are the ones basically on the hook for whatever happens. Our present economic problems have been brewing for years. The CRA (Community Reinvestment Act) came about during the Carter Administration. We are all concerned with the solvency of Social Security which has been around since FDR and has been pillaged since day 1. I could go on and on but I think that I've made the point. Over the years it hasn't been just the Democrats. The Republicans have been just as guilty of negligence to the people. It seems that most of the problems occur when one party has exclusive control. Since WWII we have generally seen good times during the Reagan and Clinton administrations. Reagan (R) had a Democrat Congress and Clinton (D) had a Republican Congress. Carter (D) had a Democrat Congress and Bush (R) had a Republican Congress except for the last 2 years (when the deficit started skyrocketing(?)). Normally a Congressperson votes along party lines except for some moderate Democrats as we have been seeing recently. They act almost like Independents. I support ideas of both parties (See my support and oppose pages and solutions pages). I think that I have explicitly described where I stand on issues and will continue to update my positions as I further discuss and research them and new issues. In order to get a true picture of the political landscape, everyone should study and question my stance as well as all other candidates. Most everyone will spin good times to come if you elect them, but it is the responsibility of all voters to "question boldly". A lot of things fall unnoticed through the cracks and are not even considered until it's too late. When I say "too late" I mean after the election when you can't really do anything about it until the next election. It is your responsibility to yourself, your family, the city, county, state, and country to know who and what you are voting for. Voting blindly (we have seen this all to often….in Congress) or strictly along party lines because your father and grandfather did is as bad as not voting at all. I take pride in being an Independent, as I can form my own opinion rather than having someone else telling me what I should think or fall out of favor with the party. What party? I repeat that I have no party and take pride in being able to form my own opinion and can in fact change my mind if someone provides a strong enough argument. If you think that that is a strange attitude for a politician, you are right. A politician must convince you that they know best and you need to follow their lead. I am not a politician. I am your neighbor. I have experienced the same things that you have. I am concerned about the same things that you are… taxes, economy, healthcare, schools, retirement...... Talk to me. We can work things out. We can get a better control of the government and our future. Help me to help you.....

But why should I help you instead of Niki Tsongas or one of the Republican candidates?

Fist of all if you support Mrs. Tsongas you probably wouldn’t be reading this unless you are spying on the opposition. There is not much that Mrs. Tsongas and I agree on.

All of the Republican Candidates seem to be fairly conservative and all seem to be fine fellows. They all present good talking points and I agree with most of their positions. I do question whether or not they will fall into lock step with the Republican power base that will exist in Congress in order to get the support that they might need to stay in Congress. I am not saying that the Republicans are bad but they are in fact part of the problem that we are presently in. I agree with Republicans more than with Democrats as I am very Conservative.

I am the only Conservative Candidate that can beat Mrs. Tsongas…in the Primary Election.

As an Independent (unenrolled-no party affiliation) my name can be written in on either party’s primary ballot. Any Independent (unenrolled) voter can request either party’s primary ballot. (Note: I realize that it might sound disgusting to some but you will have to temporarily register as a Democrat when you go into the poll but you can re-register as unenrolled as you depart the poll as after you vote.)

MA 5th district voter demographics

    (approximate)

  • Democrat-30% (30,000 out of 100,000 voters)
  • Republican-20% (20,000 out of 100,000 voters)
  • Unenrolled-50% (50,000 out of 100,000 voters)

It is obvious that if all unenrolled voters went to the Primary election and requested a Democrat Primary Ballot and wrote my name in on it as opposed to Mrs. Tsongas, I would received 50,000 votes compared to her 30,000 votes (if all registered Democrats showed up and voted for her).

What would that mean? In such a situation, I would still appear on the ballot in November as an Independent Candidate. I will be on the November ballot in any case on signatures alone, but the Democrat Incumbent would not appear on the ballot and I would be running against the Republican selection and any other Independent Candidates on the ballot.

I am only tossing this out so that you are aware of the possibilities. I realize that there are many other candidates in other races that you might want to support in this Primary Election. I am mentioning this for all that might be passionate enough that your focus is to get rid of Mrs., Tsongas. Being that this is only a midterm year for National Election cycle, many Democrats will probably not vote. I am also thinking that Mrs. Tsongas, being unopposed (?) in the Primary will save most of her resources for the General Election when all of her opposition will emerge and be confident that multiple Conservative opposition will dilute the vote to a degree that will allow her to gain advantage.

This scenario is the best and possibly the only chance to dislodge the Democrat stranglehold on the 5th Congressional District. How badly do you want to remove Mrs. Tsongas from her seat?

I am asking you to examine all the facts, get involved, and "question boldly". Form your own opinion based on facts at hand and attitudes. Determine what is best for you. Decisions made in city hall, the statehouse, and Congress "will" affect you, your family, your friends, and our country. It is your responsibility to choose wisely,

OK, but you are new to politics and have lofty ideals and want to do right by the people that you want to represent. How do we know that you won't lose your political soul and be corrupted with power in a couple of years or terms?

First of all, I am not a professional politician! Nor do I have the desire to be. If I am elected I will accept no more that 2 terms. I do want to be able to enjoy some of my retirement.

I do not associate myself with organized religion but I do have personal faith. I believe that Christians (as I do) protect their spiritual soul with the word of God. I believe that Americans (no matter what their party) must protect their political soul with the words of the founders. God doesn't give us the choice to change his words in the Bible, Torah, Koran...or whatever religious writings that you follow, if you disagree. Our founders did. If we disagree with the words of the Constitution, we can change them. They left us a process in which we can make changes to the supreme law of the land. They did not leave it open to interpretation as has become the norm. There are those that disagree with its words and try to convince us that it means something else. It must be viewed and followed as written. If you don't agree with it follow the process and change the words if you can. Otherwise, respect and follow it. I have often said that the Constitution is the definition of Americanism and evasion of it constitutes an un-American activity. I will wrap myself in the Constitution and gird myself with the founders’ words. This I believe is the only way to preserve my political soul.

This is my campaign site

Please pardon any confusion. This entire site is currently being built and revised.

I subscribe to the following 9 principles and 12 values.

9 Principles

1. America Is Good.

2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.

God “The propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right which Heaven itself has ordained.” from George Washington’s first Inaugural address.

3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.

Honesty “I hope that I shall always possess firmness and virtue enough to maintain what I consider to be the most enviable of all titles, the character of an honest man.” George Washington

4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.

Marriage/Family “It is in the love of one’s family only that heartfelt happiness is known. By a law of our nature, we cannot be happy without the endearing connections of a family.” Thomas Jefferson

5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.

Justice “I deem one of the essential principles of our government… equal and exact justice to all men of whatever state or persuasion, religious or political.” Thomas Jefferson

6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results

Life, Liberty, & The Pursuit of Happiness “Everyone has a natural right to choose that vocation in life which he thinks most likely to give him comfortable subsistence.” Thomas Jefferson

7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.

Charity “It is not everyone who asketh that deserveth charity; all however, are worth of the inquiry or the deserving may suffer.” George Washington

8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.

On your right to disagree “In a free and republican government, you cannot restrain the voice of the multitude; every man will speak as he thinks, or more properly without thinking.” George Washington

9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.

Who works for whom? “I consider the people who constitute a society or a nation as the source of all authority in that nation.” Thomas Jefferson
